Castiglion Fiorentino
Easter.
In Castiglion Fiorentino every year in the Holy Week there are evocative Easter rites such as the nocturnal processions. Starting from Holy Tuesday, the three companions of confreres, the Compagnia S. Antonio, who wears clothes of white color, that Good Death dressed in black and the Company of Jesus dressed in blue, covering the main streets of the illuminated historical center with torches, they carry in procession the wooden natural simulacra that retrace the passion of Jesus Christ.
On the night of Holy Saturday, during the Mass, the last act is staged with the “Resurrezione con la volata”. The statue of Christ is transported “in a sprint” throughout the central nave of the Collegiata while the lights of the church light up and the firecrackers burst into the churchyard.
